This page explains what information FloraDepth collects when you visit our site, how we use it, and the choices you have as a visitor.

Introduction

FloraDepth (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at floradepth.com (the “Site”). We are an independent gardening resource that publishes flower care guides, growing journals, and botanical knowledge for gardeners around the world.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits the Site, wherever they are located.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

We only collect information you choose to give us. This happens when you:

  • Contact us by email or through a contact form (such as your name, email address, and the content of your message)
  • Subscribe to a newsletter, if we offer one (your email address)

You do not need to create an account or provide personal information to read our content.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit the Site, our servers and analytics tools automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type and version, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and how long you stay
  • The website you came from (referrer)
  • Approximate geographic location derived from your IP address

This information is collected through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies. It helps us understand how visitors use the Site and improve our content.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
  • Respond to your questions and requests
  • Understand how readers find and use our content
  • Measure the performance of our articles and features
  • Serve and measure advertising, where applicable
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to build profiles of you beyond what is described in this policy.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand usage, and support advertising.

  • Essential cookies: required for the Site to function (for example, security and preference settings).
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use the Site (see Google Analytics below).
  • Advertising cookies: used to personalize and measure ads you may see (see Google AdSense below).

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and you can visit your browser’s help pages to learn how. Please note that blocking essential cookies may affect how the Site works.

Third-Party Services

We work with the following third-party services, which process some information on our behalf:

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often you visit, which pages you view, and the website you came from. This information is processed on Google’s servers. You can learn more about how Google handles data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Google AdSense

We may use Google AdSense to display advertising on the Site. AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your previous visits and to measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Fonts

The Site uses Google Fonts to display certain fonts. When you load a page, your browser requests the font files from Google, which may transmit your IP address to Google. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and the Google Fonts FAQ at developers.google.com/fonts/faq.

Hosting and Content Delivery (Vercel)

The Site is hosted on Vercel, which processes requests and may collect standard server logs (such as IP addresses and access times) to operate and secure the Site. Vercel’s privacy practices are described at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Advertising

Where advertising is displayed on the Site, ads may be served by third-party advertising partners. These partners may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to show you ads that are more relevant. You can learn about and manage the choices Google offers for personalized advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads, and you can opt out of many third-party advertising cookies through your browser settings or through services such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (networkadvertising.org).

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell your personal information)
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights

How to exercise your rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at mqc954@gmail.com. We will verify your identity before fulfilling your request and will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally within 30 days for GDPR requests and within 45 days for CCPA requests). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your request properly.

Do Not Track

We currently do not respond to “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals, because there is not yet a common industry standard for how websites should interpret them. You can still control cookies and personalized advertising through your browser settings and the opt-out tools described above.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Analytics data and server logs are generally retained for a limited period, after which they are deleted or aggregated so that individuals can no longer be identified.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at mqc954@gmail.com, and we will take steps to delete it.

International Data Transfers

The Site is hosted and operated in part through services located in the United States and other countries. If you access the Site from outside these countries, your information may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, post a notice on the Site. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
